The 2nd Hyderabad Short film Festival for the year 2011 organised by LD5 Entertainers was held on 17 th and 18th of March 2012 in Prasad labs,Jublee hills .

The chief guests for the event were Dr. Malla Vijaya Prasad, Pushpa (Director of Agrigold) ,Telugu One and other eminent tollwood film personalities Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Relangi Narasimharao, Deva Katta.

47 short films were screened under the categories of fiction, non fiction, animation. The film “Kharma ra Devuda” by Merlapaka Gandhi bagged two awards. The film “ Asl plzzzz” was chosen as the best film for the year 2011. The other films “Svecha” , “Feel the punch” were awarded for best cinematography and best animation respectively.“ Short filmmakers should make films with a passion, dedication and seriousness and not with commercial purposes.

They should contain the necessary technical aspects too” said the festival director Mr. M. Divakara Babu in the award ceremony followed by certification and Magazine release by Devakatta, director of the film “Prasthanam”.

Dr. Malla vijaya Prasad urged on the need for to encourage the production of low budget films there by encouraging the budding talents in tollywood.
